Our journey began with a conviction in 2015, launching R&D for Crumb Rubber Modified Bitumen (CRMB) in collaboration with JSTI Group, China. This dedication has led to significant milestones, including achieving full ESG certification across Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, and culminating in our appointment by PETRONAS as the official blender for PETRONAS Plastic Modified Bitumen (PPMB) in 2024. We are actively supporting Malaysia’s transition to a low-carbon economy by transforming waste streams into the roads that drive our nation.

A Decade of Innovation
K2 Bitumen transformed waste materials into high-quality road infrastructure, integrating into Malaysia’s national economic and environmental framework.

2013-2014
Support for initiatives reducing carbon emissions from business activities, including green solutions for road paving.
2015
R&D journey began with JSTI Group, China, to develop CRMB maximising performance and utilising natural resources.
2019
CRMB was developed after four years of R&D and implemented on the SKVE after a trial in Sepang.
2022
K2B achieved full ESG compliance certification for Scopes 1, 2, and 3.
2024
PETRONAS appointed K2B as the official blending partner for PPMB production.

Bold Move From Concept to Innovation
Innovation at K2B is not a department - it is the reason the company exists. Through Kemakmuran Group, K2B invested early in an R&D laboratory whose equipment includes units found nowhere else in the country. That lab is where used tyres, plastic waste, and rejected rubber gloves are re-engineered into certified bitumen binders - keeping these materials out of open burns and landfills while extending the life of Malaysia's roads. This is what we mean by paving the way for a cleaner, low-carbon future.
